Jeffrey Meter, MD, MBA, FACHE

Jeffrey Meter, MD, MBA, FACHE has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Jeffrey is currently serving as the Chief of Surgery at Humboldt General Hospital since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Bristol Hospital and Health Care Group, Inc. from October 2019 to December 2021, where they held the positions of Chair of Surgery and Medical Director of Perioperative Operations.

From September 2012 to December 2021, Dr. Meter was involved with Samaritan's Purse as a member of the DART team. Additionally, they served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut from September 2009 to December 2021.

Jeffrey also had roles as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Delphi of TeamHealth from August 2009 to September 2019, where they played a key role in developing an orthopedic trauma hospitalist program. Jeffrey was also involved with the International Geriatric Fracture Society Inc., serving on the Board of Directors from November 2017 to September 2019.

Furthermore, Dr. Meter contributed their expertise as a member of the Value Analysis Committee at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center from December 2009 to June 2019. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Orthopedic Surgeon at Regional Medical Center of San Jose from January 2010 to June 2014.

Prior to that, Dr. Meter served as the President of Bay Area Spine Consults from September 2001 to September 2012. In this role, they provided consultative services and frequently testified in court and provided depositions. Lastly, from June 2005 to June 2010, they held the position of Assistant Clinical Professor at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Jeffrey Meter, MD, MBA, FACHE has a diverse education history. Jeffrey obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from Juniata College in 1985. Jeffrey then pursued medicine and earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Drexel University College of Medicine in 1989.

In 1992, Jeffrey completed an Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, further enhancing their medical expertise. During their residency, they also had a fellowship opportunity as an AO Trauma Fellow in Chur in 1995.

Jeffrey continued to specialize in orthopedic surgery by completing a Spine Fellowship at SpineCare in 1999, focusing on orthopedic surgery of the spine. To expand their knowledge in healthcare business, they pursued a Medical Leadership Curriculum at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center from 2006 to 2007.

Jeffrey's educational journey didn't stop there. In 2018, they enrolled at Yale University and obtained their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a focus on healthcare in 2020. Additionally, they furthered their knowledge in digital marketing in Asia-Pacific by attending AGSM @ UNSW Business School in 2019.

In terms of certifications, Jeffrey obtained the title of Certified Physician Executive (CPE) from the American Association for Physician Leadership® in June 2021. Jeffrey also became a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) in April 2021.
