Christopher Gagne has extensive work experience in the field of neuroscience and AI research. Christopher is currently working as an AI Research Scientist at Hume AI since September 2022. Prior to that, they served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biological Cybernetics from January 2020. Gagne was also a Graduate Student at UC Berkeley from August 2014 to January 2020, where they focused on understanding neural computation and everyday decision-making through the collection of behavioral and fMRI data.
Before their time at UC Berkeley, Gagne worked as a Neuroscience Research Assistant at Brown University from June 2012 to June 2014. In this role, they designed and conducted fMRI studies, performed data analysis, and implemented mathematical models of computational processes in the brain.
Gagne's earlier experiences include participating in the Boston College Venture Competition as a Venture Competition Participant at Neuro Tone, where their startup idea for a "neuro-marketing" company placed in the top 5 out of 30 entries. Christopher also worked as an Undergraduate Research Fellow at the Vision and Cognition Lab, where they designed psychology experiments and completed a senior honors thesis on visual object processing.
Additionally, Gagne has industry experience, having interned as a Market Research Intern at CVS Caremark Corporation in 2010 and worked as a Pharmacy Technician at CVS Caremark Corporation from July 2009 to January 2010.
Christopher Gagne completed their education at various prestigious institutions. Christopher obtained their Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from Boston College from 2008 to 2012. During this time, they participated in the Arts & Sciences Honors Program, specializing in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience, as well as studying Philosophy.
Subsequently, they pursued their higher education at the University of California, Berkeley, where they achieved their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Cognitive Neuro from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, from 2018 to 2019, they also earned a Master's degree in Statistics from the same institution.
