Location: Paddington, London, office-based at least four days a week

Employment status: Full-time, permanent

Working week: Monday-Friday

Salary Range: £80,000 - £100,000 per year depending on experience

About the job:

As the Principal Product Designer, you will join us as we expand the functionality and grow the user base of the award-winning HyperJar app and our B2B offering HyperLayer. You will support the senior leadership team in developing and delivering our overall strategy. You will lead the design strategy and be responsible for the overall design team. 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Define and build out the design function at HyperJar
  • Lead end-to-end design projects and participate in weekly design critiques
  • Work closely with engineers and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality implementation
  • Deliver design for high quality features and improvements that can be achieved quickly
  • Create flows, prototypes, and high-quality visuals for our app features
  • Help with hiring and establishing a design culture within the company
  • Help establish processes that continue to contribute to a design-centric approach
  • Understand how users interact with our product/app, ensuring the interactions are intuitive and effective across the following aspects:
    • Usability: Ensuring the product is easy to use.

    • Feedback: Providing clear responses to user actions to guide them through the interaction.

    • Consistency: Maintaining uniformity across the interface to avoid confusion.

    • Accessibility: Making sure the product is usable by people with varying abilities.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience of significant contributions to design projects

  • A passion for design and delivering best-in-class solutions to UX, UI, and interaction challenges

  • A portfolio of excellent product design delivered within a fast-paced environment

  • An ability to think through complex interaction design

  • An ability to express ideas through visuals and prototyping (Figma)

  • Experience with design systems, programming, and using technical tools like (Git, VSCode, Origami)

  • Excellent visual, UI and interaction skills
