Nitesh Tripathi

Staff Data Scientist (level Ii) at Hypersonix

Nitesh Tripathi has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and software development. Nitesh started their career as a System Engineer at Infosys in 2014 and worked there for one year. In 2016, they joined the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) as a Research Student, where they focused on aspect extraction, aspect-based sentiment analysis, and computational geometry. Nitesh worked on interesting problems in the field of natural language processing (NLP) and published a blog on their research.

In 2018, Nitesh interned at Bewgle as a Machine Learning Research Intern, where they implemented an aspect-based sentiment analysis model for product reviews using Python. Nitesh then joined ThoughtSpot in 2019 as a Member of Technical Staff, where they worked on improving the performance and reliability of the product by making metadata storable entities immutable using the builder design pattern. This project involved significant code refactoring and gave him the opportunity to enhance their understanding of design patterns and software refactoring.

Nitesh's most recent work experience is at Hypersonix Inc., where they have held multiple roles. Nitesh started as a Data Scientist in 2020 and developed and deployed different elasticity models and worked on extracting complements and substitutes from sales data. In 2021, they were promoted to Senior Data Scientist and led a team of data scientists, analysts, and software engineers in delivering a hierarchical forecasting engine for retail customers. Their responsibilities included researching and experimenting with time series and machine learning-based forecasting models, designing time series-type identification algorithms, designing forecast reconciliation strategies, and software development activities such as designing low-level architecture and API endpoint design. In 2022, they were further promoted to the role of Staff Data Scientist, where they developed and deployed a forecast monitoring engine to continuously monitor forecast performance on customer data.

Throughout their career, Nitesh has gained experience in various aspects of data science, including developing models, extracting insights from data, and leading teams in delivering data-driven solutions. Nitesh has a strong background in NLP, aspect-based sentiment analysis, and computational geometry.

Nitesh Tripathi earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Jabalpur, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. Nitesh later obtained a Master of Technology (MTech) degree in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) from 2016 to 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Nitesh Tripathi has obtained several certifications. Nitesh completed courses such as "Sequences, Time Series and Prediction" from deeplearning.ai in April 2020, "Python Data Science Tool Box (Part I)" from DataCamp in March 2020, "Python Data Science Tool Box II" from DataCamp in March 2020, and "Time Series Analysis in Python" from DataCamp in March 2020. Nitesh also completed courses such as "Convolutional Neural Networks" from deeplearning.ai in July 2019, "Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization" from deeplearning.ai in August 2018, "Neural Networks and Deep Learning" from deeplearning.ai in August 2018, and "Structuring Machine Learning Projects" from deeplearning.ai in August 2018.
