Mark Manfrey

Director of Design at Hyphen

Mark Manfrey has over 20 years of experience in the design and UX industry. Mark began their career in 2001 as an FX Artist at LucasArts Entertainment, where they were an instrumental contributor to the FX Department asset delivery and rendering Maya-based pipeline creation. In 2002, they moved to ESC Entertainment as an FX Artist, where they worked on high-profile projects such as Matrix Revolutions and Matrix Reloaded. From 2003 to 2015, Manfrey worked at PDI/Dreamworks as a UX Designer and Senior FX Artist/Head of Character Effects. In 2015, they joined Confluent as a UX Architect, where they contributed to the creative and art strategy in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment. In 2016, they moved to Apple as a Senior UX Designer, where they managed UX design for 6 applications (web/desktop) and oversaw multiple projects. From 2019 to 2021, Manfrey worked at Facebook as a Senior Product Designer (Contractor), where they created high fidelity mockups and IA of Enterprise Engineering Risk Management and Certification tools. Currently, Manfrey is the Director of Design at Hyphen.

Mark Manfrey received their Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Michigan in 1998, majoring in Industrial and Product Design. Mark then went on to receive their Master of Fine Arts from the Academy of Art University in 2001, majoring in Animation, Interactive Technology, Video Graphics and Special Effects.
