Ellen Schmidt

Ellen Schmidt is currently the Legal at iBasis. Ellen has nearly two decades of experience in the telecommunications field. Ellen started their career as the Chief Counsel, Telephony and Internet Services, New England Region for MediaOne in January 1997. In this role, they were responsible for representing the company in regulatory proceedings, drafting and negotiating contracts, providing support for the sales, marketing, billing and provisioning departments, and providing counsel on corporate compliance issues.

In June 2000, they transitioned to AT&T where they served as their Senior Business Counsel. In this role, Ellen was responsible for the development and implementation of AT&T's national connection and service contracts, including developing terms critical to enforcement, regulatory compliance and business objectives. Ellen supervised national contract negotiations with other Fortune 500 companies and advised on dispute resolution matters. Additionally, Ellen advised and coordinated regulatory compliance and product development activities for product and sales organizations. Lastly, they managed key components of various cross-functional initiatives involving acquisition and divestiture deals.

Ellen has been with iBasis since April 2006 where they use their vast experience in telecommunications to provide legal counsel.

Ellen Schmidt attended the University of Michigan for their undergraduate degree and Washington University in St. Louis School of Law for their Juris Doctor.

Ellen Schmidt reports to Alexandre Pébereau, CEO. They are on a team with John Treece - COO, Mark Saponar - Information Technology, and Céline Grégoire - Marketing.
