Po-Jung Jimmy Huang has a diverse work experience. Po-Jung Jimmy is currently a Research Scientist at Ichor Life Sciences, Inc. starting in 2022. Previously, they held a Research Scientist position at the University of Waterloo from November 2017 to September 2022. In this role, they managed the daily workflow of two laboratories, handled procurement and inventory, monitored facilities and equipment, and resolved any issues that arose.

Prior to that, Jimmy worked as an Office Assistant at the Department of Sports, Taipei City Government from September 2016 to September 2017.

At the University of Waterloo, they held multiple positions. Po-Jung Jimmy was a Postdoctoral Fellow from June 2015 to June 2016, where they organized research, led undergraduate students, and developed and accomplished various research projects. Po-Jung Jimmy also served as a Living-Learning Residence Drop-In Chemistry Tutor from January 2013 to April 2016 and a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant from September 2009 to June 2015. In these roles, they delivered lectures, guided undergraduate students in experiments, and collaborated with professors in developing lecture materials.

Additionally, they worked at Acadia University as a Graduate Teaching Assistant from September 2004 to April 2009 and as a Graduate Research Assistant from September 2006 to October 2008.

Po-Jung Jimmy Huang obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Acadia University in 2006. Po-Jung Jimmy then went on to pursue a Master of Science degree in Organic Chemistry, also at Acadia University, from 2006 to 2008. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Waterloo and completed a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from 2009 to 2012. Subsequently, from 2012 to 2015, they continued their education at the University of Waterloo and attained a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biochemistry/Nanotechnology.
