Cesar Barraza-Botet, PhD, is currently a Visiting Science Diplomacy & Senior Trajects Fellow at ICLEI and a Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Universidad de La Sabana. Cesar's research interests include climate change mitigation, energy transition, decarbonization of transport, and energy policy and regulation. Cesar has undertaken various projects related to fuel economy improvement, carbon dioxide removal, and climate assessments throughout their career. With a background in mechanical engineering and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan, Cesar has focused on ethanol blend ignition studies and the effects of oxygenated fuel compounds on combustion. Cesar's expertise lies in the intersection of science and policy, making him a valuable asset in the field of renewable energy and environmental sustainability.
