Brian Blakely

Brian Blakely is a seasoned investment professional with extensive experience in structuring and negotiating complex energy and infrastructure projects, particularly in Panamá and the Central American region. Currently serving as Lead Investment Officer at IDB Invest since January 2016, Brian previously held similar roles at the Inter-American Development Bank, where responsibilities included overseeing infrastructure projects across Latin America and the Caribbean. Brian's earlier career includes key positions in structured finance with Société Générale and Hypo Real Estate Bank International, where expertise in real estate finance was developed. Brian holds an MBA in Finance from IESE Business School, an MSc in Accounting from James Madison University, and a BA in Business from North Carolina State University.
