Laetitia Pouzol

Associate Director, Principal Scientist, Immunology & Pharmacology at Idorsia

Laetitia Pouzol has extensive work experience in immunology and pharmacology. Laetitia started their career at Actelion in 2009 as a Research Associate and later became a Senior Research Associate. During this time, they were involved in building a new Immunology & Pharmacology laboratory and was responsible for setting up new animal models and running efficacy and mechanistic studies. Laetitia also proposed biomarkers and correlated them with efficacy in proof of concept models. Pouzol then became a Lab Head at Actelion, where they led a preclinical project targeting a chemokine receptor and provided in vivo preclinical support for a drug called ponesimod. Laetitia also presented their work at international congresses and filed patents. In 2017, Pouzol joined Idorsia Pharmaceuticals Ltd as a Lab Head and Senior Scientist in immunology and pharmacology. In this role, they managed a team of researchers and was responsible for the development, validation, and execution of in vitro assays, animal disease models, and ex-vivo readouts. Laetitia also led two research projects that were already in clinical stage, supporting their transition from preclinical to clinical development and overseeing preclinical studies. Pouzol was involved in manuscript and poster preparation and presented their work at national and international congresses. Laetitia also contributed to regulatory documents and participated in meetings with key opinion leaders. Additionally, they supported due diligence for two assets and served as a Deputy of the Department Group Head. In March 2022, Pouzol took on a new role as an Associate Director and Principal Scientist, where they continue to lead projects and support the clinical development of small molecule drugs with immunomodulatory effects.

Laetitia Pouzol completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Immunology at Université Paris-Saclay from 2019 to 2022. Prior to that, they undertook training in animal science at Université de Zürich in 2015. Laetitia also holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree specializing in the industry from Faculty of Pharmacy Nancy, completed from 2003 to 2010. Laetitia additionally obtained a Master of Sciences (MSc) in Preclinical drug evaluation-Safety Pharmacology from Université Henri Poincaré, Nancy 1 in 2008-2009.
