Patrick Sieber

Associate Director, Principal Scientist at Idorsia

Patrick Sieber has a diverse work experience in the pharmaceutical industry, research institutions, and editorial positions. Patrick started their career as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the California Institute of Technology and later at the University of Zurich. In 2008, they joined Actelion as the Lab Head R&D Cardiovascular and Fibrosis Biology, where they also served as the Head of Actelion's Cell Culture Core Unit. During their time at Actelion, they played a vital role in leading drug discovery projects and establishing strategic partnerships with academic institutions. In 2017, Patrick Sieber joined Idorsia Pharmaceuticals as an Associate Director and Principal Scientist, where they led several drug discovery projects and played a key role in developing innovative predictive human model systems. Additionally, they held the position of Senior Scientist in Cardiovascular & Fibrosis Biology at Idorsia. Currently, they are in a Review Editor role at Frontiers Group.

Patrick Sieber obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Biologie from the Université de Fribourg in 1997. In 1998, they completed a PreDoctoral fellowship in Genetics at the Carnegie Institution, Stanford University (USA). Patrick then pursued a Ph.D. in Developmental Genetics at the University of Zurich from 1999 to 2003. More recently, from 2016 to 2020, Patrick obtained an MSc in Pharmaceutical BD&L, specializing in Pharmaceutical Industry Advanced Training (PIAT) at The University of Manchester.
