Lady Justice Joyce Aluoch currently serves on the International Advisory Board for the Office of Ombudsman of the UN Funds and Programmes at the United Nations since November 2020 and is a member of the Judicial Reform Committee under the revitalized agreement for the Resolution of the dispute in South Sudan with IGAD since July 2022. As an International Mediator since April 2018, Lady Justice Aluoch is IMI-qualified and has been involved in various mediation panels, including the Strathmore Dispute Resolution Centre. Previously, Lady Justice Aluoch served as a judge at the International Criminal Court from March 2009 to March 2018, holding the position of First Vice-President and participating in the presidency of the ICC from 2015 to 2018. With a legal background as a Judge of Appeal and High Court Judge in Kenya, Lady Justice Aluoch was one of the first women to achieve these roles. Lady Justice Aluoch holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Nairobi and has studied at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University in Boston, USA.
