Joshua Lance

Joshua Lance, CPA, CGMA has a diverse work experience. Joshua is currently the Managing Director at Lance CPA Group, a certified public accounting firm that specializes in helping small business owners and entrepreneurs. Joshua has been in this role since December 2013.

In addition, Joshua has worked as the Head of Accounting at Ignition since March 2020. Joshua is responsible for overseeing the accounting operations of the company.

Joshua has also held roles as an Adjunct Faculty at Northwestern University starting in September 2016, and at the University of Vermont starting in October 2020. In these positions, they have shared their expertise and knowledge with students in accounting-related subjects.

Prior to their current roles, Joshua held various positions in different organizations. Joshua was an Entity Group Manager at Diversified Financial Management Corp. from April 2014 to January 2015, and a Controller at N Pritzker Capital Management LLC from August 2012 to March 2014.

Earlier in their career, they worked as an Audit Manager at Crowe (formerly Crowe Horwath LLP) from September 2005 to August 2012. In this role, they provided audit and financial reporting services to clients in the financial institutions industry, managed engagements, and assisted with SEC reporting and internal control assessments.

Joshua also gained experience outside of accounting. Joshua worked as a Temporary Program Assistant at the MacArthur Foundation in 2005, where they assisted with grant tracking. Before that, they were an Arts Management Intern at the Fitton Center For Creative Arts from August 2004 to May 2005.

Joshua Lance, CPA, CGMA completed their education at Miami University from 2001 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Business Administration. Joshua'smajor areas of study were Finance and Accountancy, with a minor in Arts Management.

In terms of additional certifications, Joshua Lance has obtained various designations. Joshua became a Certified Public Accountant in 2008, certified by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation. In 2012, they acquired the Chartered Global Management Accountant designation from the AICPA. Joshua also graduated from the AICPA Leadership Academy in 2017 and completed the Certified Beer Server certification from the Cicerone® Certification Program in 2018.
