Aditya V. Bahadur has a diverse work experience, starting from their most recent position as the Chair of the Research Strategy Team and Principal Researcher at the International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED) since 2020. Prior to that, they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Columbia University from 2019 to 2020. Aditya also served as the Regional Programme Development Manager at Oxford Policy Management from 2016 to 2020, where they led strategic development and operational management for the Action on Climate Today program. From 2013 to 2016, they worked as a Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute, taking on various research and project lead roles. Aditya was also a Senior Consultant at Hyderus from 2008 to 2013, engaging in research and management projects, and undertook independent consultancy projects from 2007 to 2013. Additionally, they worked as a Regional Communications Consultant for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) in South Asia in 2006 and 2007.

Aditya V. Bahadur's education history includes a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University from 2019 to 2020, where they focused on Urbanisation and Climate Resilience. Aditya V. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Development Studies from the Institute of Development Studies from 2009 to 2013, with a specialization in Climate change resilience and policy processes in urban India. Prior to that, they completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Development Studies from the same institute in 2008. Aditya also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English from St. Stephen's College, Delhi, earned from 2002 to 2005. Aditya V. began their education journey at The Doon School from 1996 to 2002.
