Ebony Holland

Senior Researcher, Nature-climate Policy Lead at International Institute for Environment and Development (IIED)

Ebony Holland has a diverse work experience in environmental and climate change policy. Ebony started their current position as a Senior Researcher and Nature-Climate Policy Lead at the International Institute for Environment and Development in October 2020. Prior to that, they worked for the Australian Government as an Assistant Director and Policy Officer in climate change, environment, and sustainable development policy from December 2011 to October 2020. Ebony was also a Programme Manager for ChildFund Papua New Guinea, focusing on climate change, disaster risk reduction, and education from April 2019 to March 2020. Ebony gained valuable experience as an intern at UN Environment in ecosystem-based disaster risk reduction and climate adaptation from September to December 2017. Ebony's earlier roles include working as a Business and Community Outreach Officer for Environmental Defenders Office, a Project Manager at Jones Lang LaSalle, a Project Coordinator at Booz & Company, and a Project Coordinator at Morgan Stanley.

Ebony Holland completed a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Geology at UNSW from 2009 to 2011. Ebony then pursued a Master of Environmental Law at the University of Sydney from 2012 to 2014.
