Alaa Alkaridi

Program Manager - Community Works Project at Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization

Alaa Alkaridi has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. From 2021, Alaa has been working as a Program Manager at the Immigrant and Refugee Community Organization, where they oversee program budgets, reports, contracts, and strategic visioning.

Prior to this, Alaa worked at Catholic Charities of Oregon from 2019 to 2020 as a Workshop Coordinator and then as an Administrative Coordinator.

From 2015 to 2019, Alaa worked at St. Andrew's Refugee Services (StARS) in various roles including Education Access and Capacity Building Program Coordinator, Community Outreach Coordinator, Community Outreach Officer, and Groups Psycho-social Worker. In these roles, they were responsible for implementing community capacity building projects, designing and conducting workshops, establishing partnerships, and providing support and advocacy to Syrian communities.

Before that, Alaa served as a Field Coordinator at The Egyptian multicultural council for refugees - Faisal center from 2014 to 2015. Their responsibilities included coordinating missions, creating monthly plans, and monitoring their implementation.

At Tadamon, Alaa served as a Community Outreach Officer from 2013 to 2014. Their duties included assessing the needs of refugees and migrants, providing information and creating initiatives to meet their needs, and managing micro grants.

Alaa previously worked as an Electrical Engineer at Sterling in 2012 and as a Computer Science Trainer at Al-Haytham Institute from 2008 to 2011.

Alaa Alkaridi earned a Master's degree in Information Systems Management from Cairo University in 2014. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer and Automation Engineering from Damascus University from 2004 to 2010. Alaa Alkaridi also obtained additional certifications, including Grants Writing from The American University in Cairo in June 2016 and TOT (Training of trainers) from the Egyptian Council For Training & Development. The specific month and year of obtaining the TOT certification are not provided.
