Andy Nelson

Executive Director at Impact NW

Andy Nelson has a diverse work experience in the non-profit sector. Andy started their career at Friendly House, Inc. in 1996 as a Development Director and worked there until 1999. From 2000 to 2002, they served as a Development Director at Impact NW. Andy then joined Hands On Greater Portland as an Executive Director from 2002 to 2012. In 2012, they became the CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters Columbia Northwest until 2016. Currently, they are an Executive Coach at Individual Executive Coaching. Since 2016, they have also been serving as the Executive Director at Impact NW.

Andy Nelson studied at the University of Connecticut from 1992 to 1994, earning a Master's degree in Social Work with a focus on Community Organizing. Prior to that, from 1983 to 1987, they attended Westfield State University where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in English.
