Joshua Symons Msc

Joshua Symons MSc, CDMP, is an Honorary Research Fellow and Director of the Big Data & Analytical Unit (BDAU) at Imperial College London, where responsibilities include overseeing an ISO 27001 certified research environment for large clinical databases. With a solid background in research software engineering and data architecture, Joshua has contributed to health care projects focused on parsing critical information from news and social media. Previous roles include Director of Data Strategy at Genomics England, Associate Director of Data Optimisation at NHS Digital, and Data Specialist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Joshua's earlier experience includes infrastructure development at UBS and systems administration at American Express. Joshua holds a Master’s Degree in Patient Safety and an Honorary Research Fellowship in Medical Informatics from Imperial College London.
