Community Liaison at ICOE

Luis Hernandez has a diverse and extensive work experience. Luis is currently working as a Community Liaison for the Imperial County Office of Education, a position they started in August 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an ELPAC Examiner at Heber Elementary School District from February 2021 to June 2021.

From 2018 to 2020, Luis worked at the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program, where they held the role of Youth Development Specialist from November 2018 to May 2020. Additionally, they served as a Youth Advocate from June 2018 to October 2018.

In 2018, Luis also gained experience as an Administrative Support Assistant at San Diego State University - Imperial Valley. Luis held this position from March 2018 to July 2019.

Before joining the Imperial Valley Regional Occupational Program, Luis worked as a Substitute Teacher at Heber Elementary from February 2017 to February 2018.

Luis Hernandez began their education in 2008 when they enrolled at Holtville High School. After completing high school in 2011, they went on to attend Imperial Valley College, where they pursued an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Luis completed their studies at Imperial Valley College in 2015.

In the same year, Luis Hernandez transferred to San Diego State University - Imperial Valley, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies. Luis successfully graduated from San Diego State University - Imperial Valley in 2018.

Luis Hernandez's educational journey continued at San Diego State University, where they pursued a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education/School Counseling and Guidance Services. Although the specific years of enrollment for this program are not provided, it is known that they pursued this degree at some point before 2021.

In 2021, Luis Hernandez began a new phase of education by enrolling in the Master of Arts program at San Diego State University, specializing in Counseling. Luis is expected to complete this program in 2022.
