James Taylor

Assistant Director Narrative And Content at Imperial War Museums

James Taylor has a vast work experience in the field of history and research. James started their career in 1986 as a Research Assistant in the German Section at The British Library, where they worked for three years.

In 1996, James joined the Imperial War Museum and worked as a Researcher for the Holocaust Exhibition until 2002. James then became the Head of Research at the Churchill Museum at Cabinet War Rooms (now Churchill War Rooms) from 2002 to 2005. From 2005 to 2008, James worked as a Historian in the Research and Information Department at the Imperial War Museum.

In 2009, James moved to the position of Head of Research and Information at the Imperial War Museums, where they worked until 2013. James then became the Head of First World War Gallery Content Team from 2010 to 2016. Currently, they hold the position of Assistant Director of Narrative and Content at the same institution.

James Taylor attended the University of Warwick from 1982 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in German Studies. Prior to attending university, James Taylor attended Skinners School in Tunbridge Wells, but no further information about their studies there is available.
