Kate Barecchia

Kate Barecchia has extensive experience in the legal field. Kate started their career as an Associate at Oblon Spivak in 2001. Kate then joined Blank Rome LLP in 2005, where they represented clients in various commercial litigation matters and provided counsel on intellectual property protection. Kate remained at Blank Rome LLP until 2018 as an Attorney and later as Of Counsel. In 2014, Kate joined SunGard - now part of FIS - as an Assistant General Counsel/Legal Executive, where they handled pre-litigation disputes, commercial litigation, and managed the company's intellectual property portfolio. In 2017, they returned to Blank Rome LLP as Of Counsel before transitioning to Infor in 2018. At Infor, they served as Associate General Counsel and Global Data Privacy Officer until 2021. Currently, Kate is the VP, Deputy General Counsel & Global Data Privacy Officer at Imperva.

Kate Barecchia obtained their Juris Doctor (JD) degree in law from George Mason University - Antonin Scalia Law School, where they studied from 2000 to 2003. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and French from Vanderbilt University, where they attended from 1996 to 2000. In terms of certifications, Kate has obtained the IAPP Fellow of Information Privacy title from the International Association of Privacy Professionals in 2022. Kate also holds the Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) certification, achieved in 2020, and the CIPP/US certification, earned in 2017.
