Richard Rawdon Smith MA FCMI Cert IoD has an extensive work experience in various leadership and management roles. Richard started their career as an Army Officer after attending the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst. Throughout their career, they held positions such as Strategic IMINT Analyst, Divisional Counter-Intelligence & Security Advisor, and Specialist HUMINT Collector. Richard also served as the Director of Defence Intelligence and Security for the Royal Sierra Leone Armed Forces. In their most recent roles, they worked at Improbable as the VP Security & Compliance and Head of Security, responsible for security policy and compliance. Prior to that, they held positions at the C4ISR Joint User Joint Force Command, where they served as the Deputy Head of Information Capability and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff Intelligence. Rawdon Smith also had the opportunity to serve as the Chief Intelligence Officer for the Multi-National Division (South West). Richard has a MA in Defence Studies from King's College London and is a member of the FCMI and Cert IoD.

Richard Rawdon Smith MA FCMI Cert IoD has a diverse education history. Richard attended The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from 1984 to 1985, where they obtained a degree in SMC 35. In 2007, they pursued an MA in Defence Studies from King's College London. Concurrently, they completed the Advanced Command & Staff Course at the Joint Services Command & Staff College. In 2015, Richard attended Alliance Manchester Business School's Advanced Management Achievement Course. Richard has also obtained various certifications, including a Level 7 Certificate in Company Direction (Distinction) from the Institute of Directors in 2016 and a Level 8 Certificate in Strategic Direction and Leadership from the Chartered Management Institute in 2015. Additionally, they have completed executive diplomas and a postgraduate diploma in strategic management from the Chartered Management Institute in 2008.
