Fran McSweeney

Fran McSweeney has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations. Currently, they are the Head of National Services at Independent Age since March 2021. Prior to this, Fran held multiple roles at Blind Veterans UK from 2014 to 2021, including Assistant Director of Operations, Regional Manager for South East Community Services, Head of Rehabilitation Policy, and IT Training Service Change Manager. Before that, Fran worked at RNIB from 2001 to 2014, where they held positions such as Interim Head of Advice and Support, Senior Manager of Information and Advice Services, and Head of Information and Advocacy Development. Additionally, Fran served as the Treasurer and Trustee for China Vision, a UK charity, from 2008 to 2014. Furthermore, they worked at Shelter UK as the London Area Manager, LondonLine Manager, and Team Leader from 1995 to 2000. Lastly, Fran started their career at Citizens Advice in 1988, initially serving as a Money Adviser and later assuming the role of Bureau Manager.

Fran McSweeney obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Urban Policy and Race Relations in 1987 from Edge Hill University. In 1998, Fran completed a program at Common Purpose, although no specific degree or field of study information is available. Later, in 2005, Fran completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a specialization in Organisational Leadership from The Open University. Lastly, in 2014, Fran obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Coaching and Mentoring Practice from Oxford Brookes University.
