John Cassady

John Cassady serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Indiana Electric Cooperatives since March 2023, bringing extensive experience in the energy sector. Previously, Cassady held multiple roles at Wabash Valley Power Alliance, including Executive Vice President of Member & Stakeholder Relations, where strategic communications and member engagement were prioritized. Cassady's previous tenure at NRECA included positions as Vice President of Legislative Affairs and Senior Principal, concentrating on federal legislative advocacy for over 900 cooperatives. Early career roles encompassed government relations positions with Ohio's Electric Cooperatives and various legislative functions within the Ohio General Assembly and U.S. House of Representatives. Cassady earned a JD from Capital University Law School, a Master’s in Telecommunications from Southern Illinois University, and a BA in Communication from DePauw University.
