Principal Product Test Engineer

As a Principal Product Test Engineer at indie Semiconductor, you will be a key team member of the Product and Test Engineering team based in Taiwan responsible for supporting of sustaining and improvement activities of test yield and cost, supporting and debugging of assembly packaging and test solution throughout the product life cycles. A strong semiconductor product manufacturing process background and the ability to collaborate with multiple vendors and internal teams across worldwide are essential to the success of this position.

Job Responsibilities:

• Sustain and drive continuous improvement activities of test yields, scrap cost, test quality, test cost and test time of released products
• Being in the first line of defense, drive and collaborate with OSAT to quickly find root causes of assembly and packaging issues, production probe and final test yield issues, and planning and logistics up front throughout NPI, pre-production to production.
• Liaison with Indie NPI project teams to ensure all aspects of manufacturing are established at OSAT locations, including test hardware, documentation, test program transfer and release process, and MSA/Gage R&R study
• Manage and coordinate ATE HW/SW setup, debug, and maintenance (Handler, Prober, etc.), calibration, inventory control of ATE HW/SW and reference control samples at test locations
• Collaborate in alternate assembly sourcing and test sourcing process, and being a technical in charge of test platform conversion of released products
• Ensure monitoring and setting up non-conforming criteria are in place, and disposition of non- conforming production materials on hold are executed by Indie and OSAT in a timely manner.

​Main Requirements:

• BS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent – Masters degree is a plus
• Strong background in automotive process flow and qualification, quality control in assembly and test operations, mechanical and hands-on development and operational experience of ATE probe and final test HW/SW and lab equipment
• Exceptional individual contributor, teamwork and communication skills to interface with internal cross-functional teams and subcontractors: Foundries, Assembly and Test Houses,
• Reliability and Qualification Test Vendors
• Proficient with various data analysis tools such as Excel, JMP, YieldHub,or similar statistical analysis tool etc.
• In depth understanding of Digital, RF and Analog Fundamental, Design for Test and Manufacturing Concepts.
• Expertise in Semiconductor Test Methodology. Digital, Mixed Signal, PMIC Devices with hands on VLSI ATE experience. System level & RF/SOC experience is a plus
• Preferred knowledge on V93000 SOC Tester – Smartest 7 or Smartest 8 
• Fluent in English and Mandarin – both written and oral
• 7+ Years Experience in ATE test development and production support
