Position Overview:

We are looking for a talented Welder to utilize hand-welding, robotic welding, laser welding, and soldering or brazing equipment to join metal components, fill holes, or seams in metal products. This includes setting up, operating, and tending to fabricated metal parts. Must be able to deburr, weld prep, assemble and weld various parts using blueprints and be able to follow welding procedures (TIG, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW). This role requires attention to detail, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, and a strong understanding of welding safety protocols.

This is a second shift position, Mon - Thurs, 3.30pm - 02.00am.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Examine workpieces for defects and measure workpieces with straightedges or templates.

  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.

  • Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade, such as shielded metal arc and gas metal arc welding equipment.

  • Select and install torches, torch tips, filler rods, and flux, according to welding chart specifications or types and metal thickness.

  • Determine required equipment and welding methods, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.

  • Prepare all material surfaces to be welded, ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease, or other foreign matter.

  • Align and clamp workpieces together, using rules, squares, or hand tools, or position items in fixtures, jigs, or vises.

  • Weld on a variety of metals including stainless steel, aluminum, and carbon steel.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine welding requirements.

  • Set up and operate welding equipment, ensuring proper settings and techniques are used.

  • Inspect welded joints and structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.

  • Maintain welding equipment in good condition and perform regular maintenance checks.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and with high precision

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in welding preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years of welding experience, with a focus on TIG welding.

  • Experience with laser welding is highly desirable.

  • Proven track record of producing high-quality welds.

  • Familiarity with welding equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.

Will be required to undergo and pass an in-house welding qualification test
