David Sanchez-Martin

David Sanchez-Martin has a diverse range of work experience spanning various industries. David is currently working as the Engineering Lead - Analytics Engineering at Infinite Lambda since February 2022. In this role, they manage an international team of 8 engineers, provides coaching and mentoring, and supports their career development. David also designs and delivers internal training to upskill data & analytics engineers, and assists in pre-sales, design, and delivery of Proof of Concepts (PoC) for customers.

Prior to Infinite Lambda, David worked at Datarsys as a Director, providing end-to-end Business Intelligence (BI) solutions. David helped a fintech company obtain value from amalgamated datasources and was certified as a LookML Developer.

David also worked at The Information Lab as a Tableau & Alteryx Consultant. David was responsible for advanced calculations, data visualization using various charts and was certified in Tableau Desktop, Alteryx Designer Advanced, and Exasol Developer.

At PwC, David worked as a Deals Technology professional. David automated financial models and customer identity consolidation using Alteryx and Tableau, enabling automation, auditability, and freeing up business resources.

David also held roles at Hg as an Operations Innovations professional, at IAG Cargo as a BI Data Analyst, and at National Cancer Institute (NCI) as a Postdoctoral Fellow. In these roles, they gained experience in areas such as data analysis, data visualization, and research on cancer-related genes.

Additionally, they have experience as a Consultant (Internship) at The Center for Advancing Innovation Inc., where they worked on outlining a virtual clinical trial platform for infectious diseases and reviewing NASA inventions for commercial and operational feasibility.

David's early work experience includes roles as a Co-Chair at National Institutes of Health, where they organized events and led a group of visiting fellows, and as a PhD student at Fundación Investigación Biomédica Hospital Universitario Puerta de Hierro. In their PhD role, they established collaborations, published research papers, and developed a laboratory information management system.

David Sanchez-Martin has a strong educational background in the field of biochemistry and molecular biology. David completed their PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedicine at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, from 2006 to 2007, they obtained a degree known as DEA (Diploma de Estudios Avanzados) in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the same institution.

Before pursuing their advanced degrees, David earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Biotechnology and Genetics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid from 2003 to 2005. David began their undergraduate studies in Biochemistry at Universidad de Salamanca in 1998 and completed their Bachelor of Science degree there in 2003.

In addition to their formal education, David Sanchez-Martin has obtained various certifications to enhance their skills in data analysis and related fields. Notable certifications include SQL (Advanced) from HackerRank, Tableau Desktop Certified Professional from Tableau, SnowPro Core Certification from Snowflake, and Alteryx Designer Advanced v2020 from Alteryx.
