Jason Knipe has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jason most recently worked as a Game Programmer at Inflexion Games starting in December 2021. Before that, from November 2018 to December 2021, Jason worked as a Game Programmer at Improbable.
Prior to their role at Improbable, Jason held the position of Graphics Programmer at Beamdog from November 2014 to October 2018. Jason began their career at BioWare Corp. in March 2000 as a Senior Graphics Programmer, where they were responsible for implementing graphical features in Neverwinter Nights. Jason then progressed to become a Lead Graphics Programmer and Principal Lead Programmer, overseeing the design of graphics, math, and animation systems. Jason was also involved in the hiring process for the graphics team and was part of the architecture team for BioWare's Eclipse Engine. During their time at BioWare, they contributed to projects such as Neverwinter Nights, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Dragon Age: Origins.
Before joining BioWare, Jason worked as an Intermediate Software Developer at net-linx from July 1998 to February 2000. Their responsibilities included processing service orders for telephone directories using C++, PL/SQL, and Oracle.
Jason's early work experience includes a role as a Programmer at Advanis from September 1996 to June 1998. During this time, they built DSS Systems using Excel and Delphi and gained experience with DDE, UUCP, and Object Pascal.
Throughout their career, Jason has worked with various programming languages and technologies, including C++, C#, DirectX, OpenGL, hardware shader assembly, and HLSL.
Jason Knipe attended the University of Alberta from 1990 to 1994, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Computer Science. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution and completed a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from 1994 to 1996.
