Mohammed Aziz

Project Director - PFI Centre of Excellence at Infrastructure and Projects Authority

Mohammed Aziz has extensive experience in government and public service roles, spanning over two decades. Mohammed has held various positions in different departments, including Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA), Department for Transport (DfT), Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Department of Health and Social Care, Department for Communities and Local Government, Public Service Transformation Network, ODPM and Property Advisers to the Civil Estate. In their most recent role as Project Director - PFI Centre of Excellence at the IPA from 2023 to present, they are responsible for PFI portfolio management. Prior to this, they held various senior-level roles at the DfT, such as Project Director (Interim) - Total Facilities Management, Deputy Director - Corporate Finance, Deputy Director - Portfolio & Performance - Road Investment Strategy, Senior Corporate Finance Adviser, and PFI Portfolio Manager. Mohammed has also held positions such as Accounting Officer Advice and Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary, Business Manager, PPP/PFI Programme/Procurement Advisor at the Department for Communities and Local Government. Mohammed'searlier roles include Local Growth Policy Adviser at the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, Winter Pressures Adviser at the Department of Health and Social Care, Senior Policy Adviser - Analysis and Evaluation at the Public Service Transformation Network, PPP/PFI Coordinator at ODPM and Assistant Policy Officer – Housing PFI at the Department of Transport, Local Government and the Regions. Mohammed Aziz has experience in managing budgets, providing advice, support and policy development, program management, and property management.

Mohammed Aziz attended Pimlico School from 1985 to 1991 and Westminster Kingsway College from 1991 to 1993. Mohammed then pursued a degree in Business Studies at the University of the Arts London from 1993 to 1996. Apart from their formal education, Aziz obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2000, they completed a BTEC HNC in Estates and Facilities Management from Civil Service College. Mohammed also earned a Level 3-4 CIPS Purchasing and Supply Foundation/Certificate of Competence from the same institution in 2009. In 2005, Aziz obtained a Prince 2 Practitioner certification from APMG International. Mohammed'slatest certifications were the Managing Successful Programmes-Practitioner from APMG International and APM Project Management Qualification from Association for Project Management in 2014 and 2015, respectively.
