David Clinton has a diverse work experience spanning various sectors. David worked as the Head of Strategy at the Infrastructure and Projects Authority (IPA) since August 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Portfolio and Strategy at IPA from October 2019 to August 2021. Before joining IPA, David served as a Senior Policy Adviser for Industrial Strategy at the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) from March 2017 to September 2019. David also worked as a Policy Adviser at the Department for Communities and Local Government from December 2015 to March 2017. David gained parliamentary experience as a Senior Parliamentary Researcher at the House of Commons from December 2013 to November 2015. Earlier in their career, they worked as the Head of English at the International New School in Rome from August 2011 to September 2012. David started their professional journey as an English Teacher through the Teach First program from August 2009 to July 2011.

David Clinton attended the University of Cambridge from 2006 to 2009, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in English. David then pursued further education at the University of York from 2012 to 2013, obtaining a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
