Spencer Watson

Spencer Watson has extensive work experience in the hospitality industry. Spencer currently works as an Operations Manager for Ingenia Communities Group. Prior to this, they held the position of Franchise Relationship Manager at Quest Apartment Hotels from 2019 to 2021. Before that, they worked at Best Western Hotels & Resorts, where they held various roles including Director of Operations, Acting Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operations Officer, and Manager Regional Services & Quality Assurance. In this last role, Spencer played a key role in improving brand quality and regional service delivery, taking the Best Western brand in Australia and New Zealand from last place to first place in quality internationally. Spencer also served as the Member Services & Purchasing Manager during their time at Best Western.

Spencer Watson obtained a Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Tourism from Southern Cross University, where they studied from 1993 to 1996. Prior to that, they attended Marist College North Sydney from 1987 to 1990, completing their HSC.

Additionally, Spencer has obtained several certifications. In February 2019, they obtained the Clifton Strengths certification from Gallup. In July 2018, they earned certifications in "4 Essential Roles of Leadership" and "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective PeopleTM" from FranklinCovey. Furthermore, they received a certification in Business Writing Skills from the Australian Institute of Management.

Spencer also holds certifications as a Certified Hospitality Revenue Manager from the American Hotel & Lodging Association, China Ready & Accredited from China Ready, and as an International Quality Assurance Assessor and Administrator from Best Western® Hotels & Resorts, although no specific dates were provided for these certifications. Spencer is also certified in Managing Remote Teams from the Australian Institute of Management and completed Mental Health First Aid training from Mental Health First Aid Australia, although the dates for these certifications were not provided.
