Patrick Sharkey

Vice President User Terminal Engineering at Inmarsat

Patrick Sharkey has a diverse work experience in the field of satellite communications engineering. Patrick has held various roles at Inmarsat, starting from Senior Systems Engineer in 2001, to Vice President User Terminal Engineering in 2023. At Inmarsat, they have also worked as the Satellite Resources Manager, responsible for managing the operations team and planning the communication payload. Patrick has also served as the Engineering Manager for Global Satellite Phone Service Infrastructure, and as the Programme Director for Advanced Systems Engineering. Prior to Inmarsat, Patrick worked at Nokia as a Specialist in Technology Outsourcing, and at EADS Astrium as the Satellite Communications Payload Engineering Manager.

Patrick Sharkey pursued their education at the University of Birmingham from 1989 to 1992, earning a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Physics. Patrick then continued at the same institution from 1992 to 1993 to obtain a Master of Science degree in Applied Radiation Physics.
