Yama Zhang Sphr

Yama Zhang, SPHR, SHRM-SCP has a strong work experience in human resources and talent management. From 2010 to 2012, Yama served as a Sr. HR Business Partner/HR Generalist at Huawei Technologies, USA, where they managed a wide range of HR functions and processes. From 2012 to 2014, Yama worked as the Sr. Manager of Human Resources at Unigen Corporation, where they led the HR department and implemented effective HR solutions aligned with the company's strategic goals.

In 2014, Yama joined TDK InvenSense as the Director of HR Business Partner & HR Operations, where they supported various departments and spearheaded cultural turnaround initiatives. Yama was later promoted to Senior Manager of HR Business Partner - APAC and played a key role in developing and evolving HR infrastructure.

From 2017 to 2021, Yama held two positions in different companies. Yama initially joined DJI as the Head of Human Resources - Overseas, where they led transformative initiatives and helped restore management credibility. Later, Yama joined Ambiq as the Senior Director of Human Resources, taking charge of talent programs and practices for the company's US and international operations.

Recently, Yama joined Spreadtrum Communications USA as the Senior Director of Human Resources, where they oversee HR operations and strategic initiatives. In 2023, Yama will transition to a new role as the Senior Director of People at InnoPhase IoT. Throughout their career, Yama has demonstrated expertise in employee growth, revenue growth, turnover management, and building employee-centric organizations.

Yama Zhang, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a Master's degree in Human Resources Management from Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations (SMLR). Prior to pursuing a Master's degree, Yama obtained a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature/Letters from Guizhou University. In addition to their formal education, Yama has also acquired several additional certifications. These include the Unconscious Bias certification from LinkedIn in February 2021, the PHR certification from the HR Certification Institute in December 2013, the SPHR certification from the HR Certification Institute in December 2013, and the SHRM-SCP certification from SHRM in November 2015.
