Marco Breuer

VP Commercial Development, Europe; at Innovive

Marco Breuer has a diverse work experience in the field of animal facility management and consultancy. Marco started their career as a PhD student and later worked as a postdoc at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek and TNO, respectively. Marco then moved on to Leiden University Medical Center, where they managed the Transgenic Core Facility and restructured the animal units into a centralized Lab Animal Facility. From 2001 to 2019, they served as the Head of the Lab Animal Facility and a Consultant at Antoni van Leeuwenhoek, leading various operational and strategic responsibilities. In 2018, they established their own consultancy, Breuer Consultancy, and provided services related to animal welfare, facility design, management, and IT. Marco further expanded their expertise as the Head of the Animal Facility at the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience from 2019 to 2022. Currently, they hold the role of VP Commercial Development, Europe at Innovive.

Marco Breuer completed their education at several institutions. Marco earned a degree in Biologie (Biology) from Radboud University, which they attended from 1979 to 1986. Marco also pursued further education in the field of Animal Welfare Officer and Laboratory Animal Science at Utrecht University from 2000 to 2002. In addition, they completed a Leergang Human Resource Management voor Universitaire Managers at Leiden University from 1997 to 1998. Prior to these accomplishments, they attended Thomas College from 1973 to 1979, where they focused on VWO studies.
