Demetrios Braddock's work experience begins in 1996, when they start working as a Clinical Fellow at the National Cancer Institute. In 2000, they become a Research Associate at the National Institutes of Health. Demetrios then joins the FDA in 2002 as a Senior Regulatory Research Supervisor. In 2004, they start working at Yale University as an Associate Professor of Pathology, focusing on hematopathology, urologic pathology, and research on vascular and hematopoietic disorders. At the same time, they are also a Scientific Founder for Inozyme Pharma, a biotechnology startup focused on rare metabolic diseases. In 2011, Demetrios founds Precipio Diagnostic Company, a hematopathology reference laboratory, and serves as the Medical Director until 2017. Demetrios continues their role as an Associate Professor at Yale University and as a Scientific Founder at Inozyme Pharma, where they are responsible for developing therapeutic treatments for metabolic disorders.

Demetrios Braddock pursued their education in a chronological manner, starting with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from the University of Chicago from 1984 to 1988. Following this, they attended The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine from 1988 to 1996, where they obtained a combined MD/PhD degree. Their field of study during this time was Biochemistry and Medicine.
