Melissa began their career as a Managing Editor at University Business magazine. In this role, they were responsible for assigning, editing, and writing articles that fulfilled the editorial vision of the magazine. Melissa also worked with the editorial team to ensure all deadlines were met and helped to plan the overall print and web content strategy. In 2018, LRP Media Group acquired University Business and District Administration magazines. Melissa then became the Senior Managing Editor of both publications. In this role, they worked closely with the editorial and art teams to ensure timely and visually engaging content. Melissa also led the social media strategy and execution for both magazines. Additionally, they created editorial calendars, assigned and wrote articles, and helped to plan and moderate conferences. In 2021, Melissa transitioned to their current role as Contributing Editor at Inside Higher Ed.

Melissa Ezarik attended Fairfield University and earned a B.A. in English: Writing with dual minors in American Studies and Women's Studies.
