Anahita Tafvizi is currently the VP of Data Science at Instacart. Prior to this, they were the Director of Finance, Commerce, Retail & Travel at Google from January 2018 to December 2021. In this role, they led the Finance and Analytics team and partnered with the President of Google Commerce to support $xx B of Retail Ads and $xx B Travel Ads, Google Express and Google Commerce. From January 2014 to December 2018, Ms. Tafvizi was the Head of Finance for YouTube Ads where they led the finance team responsible for $xxB of YouTube Ads revenue and $xxxM of marketing spend across the YouTube product portfolio. Anahita was also responsible for Ads revenue analytics and growth, Sales incentives and Marketing analytics and optimizations. Prior to YouTube, Ms. Tafvizi was the Head of Analytics & Data Science for eBay Ads from January 2012 to December 2014. In this role, they led a global team of Product Analysts and Data Scientists focused on machine learning, predictive analytics and experimentation across the portfolio of eBay Ads products. Ms. Tafvizi began their career as a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group (BCG) from January 2010 to December 2012. Anahita then transitioned into academia, serving as a Research Fellow at Harvard University from January 2005 to December 2010.

Anahita Tafvizi is a physicist who earned their Ph.D. from Harvard University, their Master of Arts from Harvard University, and their B. Sc. in Physics from Sharif University of Technology.

They are on a team with David McIntosh - VP, Product - Retail, Kevin Henrikson - VP, Engineering, and Brandon Leonardo - Co-Founder. Their manager is Mark Schaaf, CTO.
