Erik Levinson

VP Engineering at Instant Financial

Erik Levinson is the current VP of Engineering at Instant Financial. Erik has held this position since September of 2015 and is responsible for the strategy, vision, and guidance in respect of product and technology. Erik has also fostered an Agile and DevOps culture / approach to service delivery.

Erik has been in the engineering field for many years. Prior to their current position, they were the Key CTO at Previous Company and the VP of Engineering at Previous Company. At both of these companies, Erik was responsible for building and leading a high performing engineering team that delivered a fault tolerant, highly scalable, highly available, secure and compliant Earned Wage Access payments platforms processing billions of dollars in transactions for hundreds of thousands of users.

Erik has experience with AWS (VPC, EC2, S3, SQS, ElastiCache, RDS, SNS, Redshift, QuickSight, and others), terraform, ansible, meteor, Node.js, Express, MongoDB, Gitlab. Erik is also responsible for all aspects of security, including architecture, security policy development and implementation, secure development and testing practices, infrastructure security, access control, security awareness training, incident response, threat and risk assessments, vulnerability scans and penetration tests, and RFP/RFQ responses and agreement reviews.

Erik Levinson is a Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo.

Erik Levinson reports to Kevin Falk, CTO. Some individuals on their team include Michael St George - Senior Developer, Team Lead, Rob Secord - Developer, and Steve Van Bruwaene - Developer.
