Daniel Smith

Daniel Smith has a long and varied work experience. Daniel began their career in 2007 as a Graduate Student/Teaching Assistant at Michigan State University. In 2013, they moved to Furman University as an Assistant Professor. In 2014, they joined Auto-Owners Insurance as an Actuarial Technician. In 2017, they joined Quicken Loans as a Senior Data Scientist - Consultant, then moved to Senior Data Scientist, and finally Data Scientist. Most recently, in 2020, they joined Instinct Science as a Lead Data Scientist.

Daniel Smith obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mathematics from Michigan State University between 2002 and 2007. Daniel then went on to complete a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics at Michigan State University between 2007 and 2013. In addition, they obtained various certifications from the CAS, SOA/CAS between 2014 and 2016, including Exam S (May 2016), Exam C (June 2015), Exam MFE (November 2014), Exam FM/2 (June 2014), and Exam P/1 (March 2014).
