Amita Patel, MS MLS (ASCP) has worked in the medical laboratory field since 1999. Amita began their career as a Student Intern at Dr. Amins Pathology Laboratory, and then moved to Biotech Diagnostics Laboratories in Mumbai, India as a Medical Laboratory Technician. In 2003, they worked at Graduate Hospital as a Student Intern, and then moved to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children as a Medical Laboratory Technician. In 2004, they began working at Children's Hospital Boston, where they held the roles of Med Tech III, Clinical Student Coordinator, and Medical Technologist II. From 2019 to 2021, they worked at Foundation Medicine as a Molecular Technologist III, and is currently working at Institute for Protein Innovation as a Laboratory Operations Manager.

Amita Patel, MS MLS (ASCP) completed their education history with a Master's degree in Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Rhode Island between 2011 and 2014. Amita also obtained an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from PV Polytechnic between 1996 and 1999. Prior to that, they attended PennWest Edinboro from 2000 to 2004. Amita Patel's educational journey began at Our Lady of Nazareth between 1985 and 1993.
