Jamais Cascio is a distinguished fellow at the Institute for the Future since July 2006, engaging in various foresight and sustainability projects. As a foresight consultant and freelance writer with Open the Future since January 2002, Cascio explores societal responses to rapid changes in future concepts through various scenario projects. Additional roles include serving as a global futures strategist for the Center for Responsible Nanotechnology from 2006 to 2009 and co-founding WorldChanging.com, which focuses on sustainable and democratic advancements. A background in content strategy was developed as the director of content strategy for The Idea Factory and through freelance writing engagements that included contributions to notable publications and consulting for television productions. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley, an honorary doctorate in Technology from the University of Advancing Technology, and a BA with a double major in History and Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
