Brendan Niemira

Brendan Niemira is a Lead Scientist at USDA-ARS with extensive experience in food safety and intervention technologies for minimally processed foods. Brendan serves as a Leadership Development Committee member at the Institute of Food Technologists and is also a Board Member, actively contributing to the achievement of IFT's vision and mission. Additionally, Brendan has held various roles within the USDA-ARS, including Acting Research Leader for both the Food Safety and Intervention Technologies Research Unit and the Microbial Food Safety Research Unit. With a background in biology and plant pathology, Brendan has made significant contributions to research in microbial food safety and intervention technologies.
