Phern Chern Tor

Phern Chern Tor has a significant background in psychiatry and mental health, holding various roles in different institutions since 2011. Phern Chern has worked at the Ministry of Health (Singapore) and the Institute of Mental Health, with responsibilities ranging from clinical director to consultant and registrar. Additionally, they have held leadership positions at the international society for ECT and Neurostimulation, Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Tor has also been involved in academia as an adjunct assistant professor at several institutions and has served as an editorial board member for the Shanghai Archives of Psychiatry. Their expertise extends to neurostimulation, mood disorders, and electroconvulsive therapy services.

Phern Chern Tor completed their primary education at Fairfield Methodist Primary School from 1984 to 1989. Phern Chern then attended The Chinese High School for their O Level education from 1990 to 1994. Subsequently, they pursued their A Levels at Hwa Chong Junior College from 1995 to 1996. Phern Chern Tor furthered their education by obtaining an MBBS degree in Medicine from the National University of Singapore from 1997 to 2001. Phern Chern later pursued a Postgraduate Certificate of Medical Education at the University of Dundee from 2013 to 2015.
