We are seeking a Cloud Infrastrucutre Engineer to join our team. Intact Software is dedicated to providing the best possible service to our customers, and we need someone who is passionate about ensuring the reliability and availability of our cloud systems and services.

As a Cloud Infrastrucutre Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our multi-cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Location: UK hybrid, minimum 2 days a week is required in the office (Hemel Hempstead or Nottingham)

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on a multi-cloud infrastructure environment.

  • Monitor system alerts, respond to incidents, and troubleshoot any issues that arise.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve problems quickly and minimise downtime.

  • Document system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps.

  • Contribute to the team's knowledge base and share best practices to improve overall reliability.

  • Conduct post-incident analysis to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.

  • Work on problem management, including identifying recurring issues and implementing long-term solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and support, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders regarding system status, issues, and improvements

Knowledge and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of proven experience in a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role with a focus on AWS.
  • AWS SysOps Administration Associate Certification required.
  • DevOps Engineer Professional Certification is a plus.
  • You should have a good understanding of cloud infrastructure and the AWS platform.
  • Experience with Google Cloud is a plus.
  • Experience with scripting languages. You should be proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and Powershell and have familiarity with containerisation technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • System Administrator. You should have a strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems and how to operate the same in cloud infrastructures.
  • Familiarity with automation tools.
  • You should have previous hands-on experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible. Familiarity with monitoring tools.
  • You should be familiar with monitoring tools such and have experience in setting up, configuring, and maintaining such tools.
