Scott Barnett

Scott Barnett is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in insurance law and dispute resolution. Currently serving as Senior Legal Coverage Counsel at Intact since November 2021, Scott provides expert guidance on insurance coverage issues and supports claims and underwriting teams. Scott has adjudicated claims as a member of the Small Claims Court of Nova Scotia since July 2005, in addition to prior roles as Senior Legal Counsel and Legal Counsel at Intact Insurance and Aviva Canada Inc., respectively, where Scott provided comprehensive legal representation in various insurance-related matters. Scott's earlier experience includes serving as a Partner at Wickwire Holm, addressing estate and insurance disputes, as well as an Associate Lawyer at Stewart McKelvey, focusing on a broad range of legal concerns. Educationally, Scott holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) in History and Political Science from Mount Allison University.
