Niel Knoblauch

Niel Knoblauch has worked in the minerals processing and metallurgical industries since 2015. At IntelliSense.io, they have served as a Product Manager, Product Lead, and Application Specialist since 2019. In their role as Product Manager, they developed digital portfolio roadmaps and business cases for software applications in the monitoring, control and optimization of minerals processing and metallurgical plants. As Product Lead, they managed core OaaS applications and led the technical development and implementation of AI process optimization solutions. As an Application Specialist, they led the agile development and commercial roll-out of an industry-first Stockpile & Inventory optimisation application.

Prior to their work at IntelliSense.io, Knoblauch worked at Mintek as a Process Engineer (Advanced Process Control) and Engineer in Training. As a Process Engineer, they designed and implemented a Model Predictive Control solution, and managed advanced process control commercial and R&D projects. As an Engineer in Training, they managed and executed local Concentrator Plant advanced process control projects, and analysed client flowsheets and designed solutions to solve their specific pain points.

Niel Knoblauch obtained a BEng (Chemical Engineering) from Stellenbosch University between 2009 and 2012, with a focus on Minerals Processing. Niel then obtained an MScEng from Stellenbosch University between 2013 and 2014, with a focus on Process Engineering (Extractive Metallurgy) and Process Control. Niel also has several certifications, including Become a Product Manager from Udemy (2020), Pricing Strategy: Value-Based Pricing from LinkedIn (2020), Associate Member from the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) (2019), brains.app Admin Level 1 from IntelliSense.io (2020), and brains.app Specialist (Thickener) - Level 1 from IntelliSense.io (2020).
