Kelly Mendes

Kelly Mendes has a diverse work experience, with roles in various organizations and industries. From 1998 to 2006, they served as the Clinic Director at Hidden Valley Chiropractic and Wellness Centre, overseeing the business aspects of the center and focusing on family chiropractic care. Following that, from 2007 to 2011, they worked as the Project Lead for PSLS - Quality/Risk/Accreditation at Interior Health Authority, a provincially funded healthcare organization. Kelly then joined Impact BC and Patient Voices Network as a Quality Improvement Advisor from 2011 to 2013, collaborating with stakeholders to improve healthcare in British Columbia. From 2013 to 2020, they held various roles at the Alberta Medical Association, including Consultant, Physician Support, where they provided consultative leadership in designing health service delivery models and analyzing complex data. Additionally, they were a Founding Member and Chair of People & Capacity at Imagine Citizens Network, a grassroots citizen initiative focused on citizen engagement in healthcare. In 2020, they worked as a Senior Consultant at INNOVACOMP Consulting Ltd. and as a Project Manager at Novari Health. Finally, in 2021, they became the Lead of Medical Staff Contracts at Interior Health Authority.

Kelly Mendes began their education journey by obtaining a Diploma in Medical Transcription/Health Records from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology (SAIT) in 1990. Later, in 1992-1994, they pursued Health Care Administration and Community Health at the University of Saskatchewan. In 2009, Kelly attended Royal Roads University, where they completed a Graduate Certificate in Project Management. Subsequently, they continued their studies at the same institution and obtained an MBA in Leadership from 2009-2011. Additionally, in 2011, Kelly participated in an International Residency for MBA at Grenoble Ecole de Management, specializing in Business. In 2013, they obtained a certification from the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), but the specific month of achievement is not mentioned.
