Jean Ruiz Carpio

Head Data & Analytics at International Air Transport Association

Jean Ruiz Carpio has over two decades of work experience in the aviation industry. Starting with the Civil Aviation Authority in Peru in 1997, where they worked in Flight Safety. Since 2000, Jean has held various leadership roles at the International Air Transport Association (IATA), including managing data solutions, business intelligence, and aviation forecasting. Their responsibilities have ranged from managing commercial BI portfolios worth $50M to overseeing the development and release of annual statistical digests. Currently, as the Head of Data & Analytics at IATA, Jean is involved in supporting digital transformation and industry engagement initiatives.

Jean Ruiz Carpio holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Industrial Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, completed in 1997. Subsequently, in 1999-2000, Jean pursued an MBA in International Airline and Aviation Management at Concordia University. Later, from 2003 to 2006, Jean completed a Post MBA at McGill University, focusing on International Business. In 2019, Jean enrolled in the Disruptive Innovation Program at IMD and concluded with a Digital Transformation in Practice certification in 2021 from the same institution.
