Irene Mgendi

Irene Mgendi is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and operations, currently serving as the Africa Program Operations Manager at the International Crisis Group since September 2005. In this role, Irene oversees program planning and execution, providing executive support to senior management while managing HR, finance, and operational matters across regional offices. Previously, Irene held the position of Office Manager at the same organization and worked as a Corporate Services Advisor at KPMG East Africa Limited as well as a Graduate Trainee at Standard Chartered Bank. Educational qualifications include a Diploma in Psychological Counselling from the Kenya Institute of Professional Counselling, a Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Africa International University, a CSMP Level 6 Accredited Diploma in Security Management from ISMI, and a Bachelor of Science in Maths and Chemistry from the University of Nairobi.
