IFF
Jon Palmer is a seasoned bioinformatics scientist with extensive experience in academia and industry. Currently serving as Lead Scientist in Bioinformatics at IFF since February 2021, Jon has progressed through several roles within the company, including Senior Scientist II and Senior Scientist. Prior to IFF, Jon worked at DuPont as a Scientist II in Bioinformatics and contributed to research at the US Forest Service as a Post Doctoral Researcher, focusing on the fungus responsible for White-nose Syndrome in bats. Academic accomplishments include a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology with an emphasis on Fungal Genetics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a Master's in Biology specializing in Mycology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and a Bachelor's in Cell and Molecular Biology from the same institution. Throughout Jon's career, key research areas have included genomic and transcriptomic analyses and the genetic regulation of secondary metabolism in fungi.
